AI recruitment tools that screen CVs, rank candidates, or write job adverts are now common, even in small businesses using off-the-shelf software. The Equality Act 2010 applies fully to decisions made or supported by AI, and getting this wrong carries real legal risk. Where AI hiring tools commonly introduce bias

Job adverts: generative AI can produce gendered or otherwise biased language, like "masculine-coded" job titles, by reproducing patterns in its training data
