If you do not use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) or similar remote access tools, disable them on your computers.

Step-by-step guide

Windows: 1. Search for 'Remote Desktop settings'
Toggle 'Enable Remote Desktop' to Off
Mac: System Settings → Sharing: ensure 'Remote Management' and 'Remote Login' are off
If you do need remote access, use a VPN rather than exposing RDP to the internet
