Uninstall applications you no longer use from your devices. Every extra app is a potential vulnerability.

Step-by-step guide

Review apps on your phone: Settings, then Apps, and uninstall anything you haven't used in 3 months
Review programs on your computer. Windows: Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps. Mac: open the Applications folder or Launchpad and remove apps you don't use (drag them to the Bin, or press and hold in Launchpad and click the X).
Uninstall anything unfamiliar or no longer needed
Do this every 6 months as a routine
