Secure ConfigMedium priority

Remove unused apps and software

Uninstall applications you no longer use from your devices. Every extra app is a potential vulnerability.

Why this matters

Unused software often goes without updates, creating vulnerabilities attackers can exploit. Less software means a smaller attack surface.

How to do it

  1. Review apps on your phone: Settings → Apps — uninstall anything you haven't used in 3 months
  2. Review programs on your computer: Windows: Settings → Apps → Installed apps
  3. Uninstall anything unfamiliar or no longer needed
  4. Do this every 6 months as a routine
