Mac security: where to start
Macs are well built for security, but most of the protection only works once you switch it on. The good news is that the settings that matter most take a few minutes each, and you only set them once.

Cyber Nova AI helps you prepare for Cyber Essentials. It doesn't award or certify it. Follow the steps here to get ready, then apply for certification through an accredited Cyber Essentials body when you're set.
Start with these five
If you do nothing else, do these. They block the most common ways people lose data or get caught out.

Where these settings live
Almost everything above is in System Settings. Look under your name at the top for the Apple Account options, and under Privacy & Security for FileVault and updates. Each guide in this section walks you through one step at a time.
Do them in order, at your own pace
You don't have to do all five today. Start at the top and work down. Each one you finish leaves you safer than before, and none of them will slow your Mac down.
